Mako - Not Your Typical Shark Anymore

When it comes to thrilling rollercoasters in Central Florida, SeaWorld Orlando isn't usually the first theme park to come to mind. Well, that may change with the newest addition to their coaster-roster, coming in 2016. Mako, a high-speed, high-scream coaster will be debuting next summer much to the delight of heart-pounding coaster enthusiasts & thrill-seekers.

Mako, the third in SeaWorld Orlando's coaster family that includes Kraken and Manta, promises guests a 200 foot drop that will likely take your breath away, as well as NINE hills that will lift you out of your seats with "relentless airtime". Themed after one of the fastest predators in the water, Mako, will be 4670 feet in length reaching speeds in excess of 70 mph. Mako will be nestled into what will become a shark-themed environment that already includes the popular Shark Encounter attraction, and Shark Underwater Grill dining location.

This new steel hypercoaster is being called the tallest, fastest, and longest coaster in Orlando. Construction has already begun.
